Wearing a loose, striped shirt and wide-leg trousers, the actress—portraying a stay-at-home mother who believes she’s transforming into a dog—looked far removed from the typical red-carpet elegance.
She was spotted filming scenes for the movie in Los Angeles on Tuesday, noticeably without makeup. Her laid-back look was completed with a pair of brown Birkenstocks.
During filming, she performed a scene where she slapped her co-star, Scoot McNairy, across the face. Despite the intensity of the moment, the “American Hustle” actress didn’t appear furious but rather carried a subtle look of regret. As the cameras rolled, the two actors were seen standing opposite each other, briefly holding hands.
Later, she seemed in brighter spirits, kneeling on the ground, smiling, and placing her hands on her knees.
The film, titled Nightb**h*, also stars Ella Thomas and Garrett C. Phillips. According to Variety, the story follows “a suburban housewife overwhelmed by the daily routine of child-rearing.” As she leans into the untamed energy of motherhood, she begins to notice strange, unmistakable signs that she may be turning into a dog.
Off-screen, Amy and her husband Darren Le Gallo are busy raising their 12-year-old daughter Aviana when she’s not immersed in her film projects.
This latest sighting comes after Amy’s American Hustle co-star, Christian Bale, revealed he had to step in as a mediator between Amy and director David O. Russell during filming. A leaked email from Sony indicated that David had mistreated Amy to the point where Christian intervened. Reflecting on the experience, Amy shared that she felt “devastated” for much of her time on set.
Christian explained, “If I can understand where the tension is coming from, I can’t help but try to mediate. Amy and David were at odds, and I just felt the need to help them find a way to make things work.”
