Actor John Schneider compared Beyoncé to a dog establishing its territory on conservative cable news program One America News Network this week regarding her country music debut.
The “Dukes of Hazzard” actor insulted the 32-time Grammy winner when discussing how Beyoncé’s fans tried to get her new song, “Texas Hold ‘Em,” broadcast on an Oklahoma country music radio station with OANN anchor Alison Steinberg.
Steinberg said country music has changed owing to “a lot more crossover music and acts like Shania Twain and Carrie Underwood,” then mentioned KYKC 100.1 FM’s reaction for not playing Beyoncé’s new single.
“The entertainment industry lefties won’t leave any area alone, right? They must take control of everything, right? Steinberg asks.
They must stand out like a dog in a dog park, Schneider said with a smug smirk. “Every dog must mark every tree, right?”
“So that’s happening. Shania and the other country music stars went out. That’s one,” the actor said. But folks going into country music—because I know a little about it—seem to think it’s easy, simplistic, or not as complex as the music they sing otherwise.”
Schneider, who has performed country music since his TV days and appeared on “The Masked Singer” last year, said he’s not part of the Beyhive, but many have been listening to his new songs.
“Texas Hold ‘Em,” published last weekend alongside “16 Carriages,” debuted on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart last week, marking Beyoncé’s first country chart appearance.
