Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO) impotently complained about the Trump Administration’s plans for a mass deportation campaign during an inadvertently humorous broadcast of MSNBC’s “Deadline” on Monday, January 27. He stated that he will not stand by while Trump and his team deport children and families.
When “Deadline” host Nicolle Wallace pointed out that Trump’s Administration has stated that the current round of deportations is only the beginning, it sparked that complaining conversation. “This is just the beginning, the opening salvo, if you will,” he remarked, referring to the Trump administration. Aurora, Colorado, has been mentioned as one of the next locations that might be targeted. Wallace then proceeded to ask, “What are you hearing from your constituents?”
Rep. Crow responded by complaining about Trump’s intentions to enforce U.S. immigration law. He started by stating that a large portion of his constituency is made up of different immigrant groups, saying, “Well, Nicolle Just to give you an idea, I represent one of the most diverse communities in the nation. Approximately 20% of my residents were born outside of the United States in my community. I attend a public school system where 130 languages are spoken.
Then, after stating that it is fortunate that a large portion of his constituents are foreign-born, he provided some alleged justifications by stating, “And these folks are business owners.” They attend the same school as my children. They are employed by our companies. They play a crucial role in our community’s vitality, vigor, and vitality.
He didn’t clarify how he and his supporters would oppose Trump’s legitimate implementation of US immigration law at the time he made his ridiculous statement about not tolerating Trump’s plans for deportations. “They’re scared,” he remarked. For this reason, I’m taking a stand and making it very clear what we will and won’t tolerate.
Continuing to complain about deportations, Rep. Crow went on to say, “I believe this is important for every American right.” Let’s get clear about what we’re dealing with now. I haven’t heard or spoken to anyone who believes that we shouldn’t keep our neighborhoods safe, clean up our streets, deport and imprison violent offenders, and protect our children. It’s already illegal, and everyone agrees on that. A mass deportation is what we are discussing. a mass deportation that is capturing everyone, including families, business owners, and children.
“And I would like somebody in the Trump Administration to explain to me how doing that is actually going to reduce costs, help our businesses, help our communities, and make us more safe, because doing that will do the exact opposite and they know it,” he said, continuing his tirade, and demanding an explanation from the Trump Administration as to why enforcing the law is beneficial.
