Fox News keeps getting more viewers than its competitors, MSNBC and CNN. In terms of total day viewers, 2022 was Fox News’ third most popular year in the history of TV news.
For the seventh year in a row, Fox was the most popular basic cable network during prime time and all day, and it was also the most popular cable news network for the 21st year in a row.
Nielsen/MRI Fusion data shows that Fox News had the most politically diverse audience in television news. More Democrats, Independents, and Republicans watched than on any other network, along with younger people aged 25 to 54.
With 53% of the 25–54 age group, Fox News had the second-highest share of the cable news viewers in its history. The network also had 55% of the evening audience’s views.
Suzanne Scott, CEO of Fox News, said:
America’s pick on election night and the home of late night’s biggest hit show, 2022 showed how good we are at giving our audience, which is still the most politically diverse in cable news, the newest and most interesting news and opinion shows.
“I am incredibly proud of everything our team has done this year.”
