The movie star Susan Buckner from GREASE has died. She was 72 years old.

The actress became well-known for her role as Patty Simcox, Sandy’s cheerleading friend played by Olivia Newton-John in the movie musical.

Deadline reports that Susan’s family said she died peacefully in Miami, surrounded by loved ones.

Variety shows like The Mac Davis Show, Sonny and Cher, and The Brady Bunch Variety Hour were just a few of the TV shows and movies that Susan was in.

She also ran for Miss America as a representative for Washington state in 1972.

She got her most famous role as Rydell High cheerleader Patty in 1977. Patty wasn’t afraid to show her school spirit.

“Do the splits and yell!” She was known for chanting, “Show some spirit for old Rydell!” with Olivia’s character Sandy. “Good job, red and white! As Rydell says, “Go fight, fight, fight!”

Son Adam Josephs and daughter Samantha Mansfield are the ones left behind by Susan.

Her sister Linda and her partner Al, as well as her four grandchildren, will miss her.

Fans of the movie and Susan remembered her on the web.

Someone wrote on Instagram, “So sorry to hear of her death.” “I loved her role on Grease.”

“Sweetheart! “I’m so sorry!” said someone else.

“Patty Simcox was a star on Grease,” said a third.

GREASE STARS GONE
Susan’s death comes less than two years after Olivia, her co-star in Grease, died.

The singer who won four Grammys passed away on August 8, 2022, after a 30-year battle with breast cancer.

Her husband, John Easterling, confirmed at the time that she had died at her ranch in Southern California. She was 73 years old.

“Dame Olivia Newton-John passed away peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends,” John said on her Facebook page.

Olivia’s story about her battle with breast cancer has been a source of inspiration and hope for more than 30 years.

“The Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund, which is dedicated to researching plant medicine and cancer, carries on her healing inspiration and groundbreaking work with plant medicine.”

“In lieu of flowers, the family asks that any donations be made in her memory to the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund.”

Olivia was treated for breast cancer in 1992, but in 2017 she said it had come back, according to The Washington Post’s Instagram account.

For many years, she kept her battle with cancer a secret, but she was still a strong supporter of raising awareness.

TRIBUTES
John Travolta, Olivia’s co-star in Grease and love interest, led a group of stars who paid tribute to her after she died.

John wrote on Instagram at the time, “My dear Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better.” “You made a huge difference. I really love you.

At the time, he wrote, “We will see you down the road and we will all be together again.”

“You’re mine from the first time I saw you and always!” “Your Danny, your John!” the actor said in the end.

It broke my heart, said Randal Kleiser, the director of Grease, in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. She was unique and really nice.

“She loved everyone she met for more than forty years that we were friends.”

“Olivia was just like you thought she would be.” I will always miss her.
