A picture of a baby with unusually long and pointed nails has gone viral, prompting people to talk about the risks associated with these “claws.”
People were worried about the sharp nails on the baby’s small fingers when the photo went viral on Facebook. The photo has quickly gone popular on Twitter; it shows a mother’s thumb resting on her baby’s hand, exposing her painstakingly made artificial nails.
‘I can do your babies nails…cheap rates.’ The lady boastfully captioned the photo. S
Those who were quick to criticize the photo pointed out the dangers that the baby’s decorated nails could pose. “I can’t imagine giving my daughter claws; her nails are already so sharp,” one commenter said. Ditch the idea.
In one photo, the infant has fake nails that resemble talon claws, but in another, the nails are more gently rounded. Stilettos, squares, and ovals were prominent in the designs.
Reddit users took notice of the ad, which sparked a backlash from concerned parents who voiced their concerns about the trend’s possible negative effects.
If you want to keep your infant from hurting themselves, you should keep their nails short, according to one person. This is just incredibly tacky and ridiculous.
That is extremely risky, someone else said. Even without nails, babies can leave scratch marks on their faces and eyes from poking themselves. This is completely irresponsible and will cause additional harm to the baby.
“I could see painting a baby’s nails, but giving them fake ones? That’s just wrong,” a third party said, expressing concern for the infant’s well-being. It poses too great a risk! Their eyes could get damaged from all the caressing of their faces. Waiting till they are much older is preferable.
Some thought the photo’s nails were Photoshopped in, while others remembered a comparable occurrence that made headlines in December.
Given the circumstances, it’s wise to maintain babies’ nails trimmed to avoid scratching, particularly those born past their due dates, whose nails may be longer and sharper.
It is critical to prioritize the safety and well-being of infants, maintaining their health and happiness throughout their early stages of life, even when online trends might cause controversies and divisions.
