Keith Urban talks about how his wife Nicole Kidman helped him understand what’s important in life.
Urban, 54, talked about a lot of things in an interview on Wednesday, such as his battle with addiction, how his goals have changed, and his family life.
During the beginning of his career, the country star went to rehab several times. The most recent time was just a few months after he married Kidman, 54, in 2006. When asked to go to a party during the interview, the singer turned down the offer, saying, “I’d like to stay married.” This was a big turning point in his life.
“I guess I used to do something where I’d think about what would happen if I did something and then decide if it was worth it,” he told the outlet. “And most of the time I decided it was worth it, even though it would cause problems.”
He went on, “I’d say, ‘I know this is going to happen, but it will be bloody fun.'” It’s true that the me at night hates the me at day. But the next morning, Night-Time Me is nowhere to be found—he’s not responsible at all.”
But these days, Urban is mostly focused on his two kids, Sunday, 13, and Faith, 11.
“These days, life is very different. “I’m trying to be a good example for the kids, but I’m not sure if I’m doing it right,” the singer of “The Fighter” said.
“I have done many wrong things, but you need to find what works for you.” What I tell them is that it doesn’t matter what they do as long as they work hard to get what they want “he added. “Nic and I worked very hard together. It felt like I had to pay my dues twice. To get a record deal, I worked my way up through the clubs in Australia. When I moved to the US, I had to start from the very beginning again.
“Thank goodness, things worked out a second time,” he said.
The singer of “Cop Car” also told The Times last month, “My dad was an alcoholic, so I grew up in an alcoholic house, and it took me a long time to believe I was wired the same.”
“I don’t talk about it much because I want people to just chill out and enjoy myself.” That’s not my thing about drugs or drinks. “One Too Many” artist continued, “Everyone does what they want to do to have a good time.” “I just found out I’m allergic to it.” A person asked, “Do you have an allergy?” What takes place when you drink? “I break out in cuffs,” I said.
Kidman told E!’s Live from the Red Carpet in March that Urban had flown to Los Angeles to be with her at the 2022 Oscars, where she was nominated for her role in Being the Ricardos, on March 27. This was after Urban had played a show in Las Vegas the night before.
“I’m so glad to be here.” She said, “I’m so happy to be here with my husband, who played in Vegas last night and flew in and landed at 1:00 a.m.” Say “Whatever it takes.”
