For the eighth year in a row, Fox News Channel was the most-watched cable network in 2023. This was thanks to “The Five” continuing to make history and the network’s new nighttime lineup doing very well.

“Cable viewers continued to choose Fox News Channel during yet another news cycle that had never been seen before.” FOX News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said, “I am honored to work with this unmatched team of journalists and opinion hosts as they continue to exceed expectations. From moderating debates to reporting in war zones and many stories in between, they do it all.”

With an average of 2.9 million people, “The Five,” which stars Greg Gutfeld, Jesse Watters, Dana Perino, Jeanine Pirro, and Jessica Tarlov and Harold Ford Jr. as co-hosts, was the most-watched news show on cable for the second year in a row.

“Jesse Watters Primetime” came in second with an average of 2.5 million people, and “Hannity” came in third with an average of 2.4 million viewers. Finally, “Gutfeld!”, “Special Report with Bret Baier,” and “The Ingraham Angle” finished out the top six. Thirteen of the top twenty most-watched cable news shows were on Fox News.

“Anderson Cooper 360,” which ranked No. 29 among TV news shows, was CNN’s most-watched show. CNN has been having such a bad time that the network’s own media reporter has asked in public if the “lackluster” numbers can be fixed.

Even though “AC 360” was CNN’s most-watched show, it only got 737,000 people, which was less than 14 Fox News shows and 14 MSNBC shows.

“The Five” came in first place with 301,000 average views from the 25–54 age group, which is a highly sought-after audience for advertisers. It was the first time in TV history that a television show that wasn’t in prime time won the award.

“America’s Newsroom with Bill Hemmer and Dana Perino,” “The Ingraham Angle,” “Special Report,” “Outnumbered,” “The Faulkner Focus,” and “Hannity” all did better in the key demo than anything CNN or MSNBC had to offer.

CNN had its lowest-rated year ever, making it two years in a row that the network’s ratings were the lowest ever. It was MSNBC’s least-watched year in prime time among the key demo since 1999.

Fox News had an average of 1.2 million viewers per day, while MSNBC only managed 776,000 viewers. FNC was the only cable station to get more than a million viewers. CNN only got 479,000 views all day.

Fox News had an average of 1.9 million people during prime time, more than any other network. MSNBC came in third with an average of 1.2 million viewers during prime time, while CNN had a terrible time in this area.

CNN had an average of only 582,000 viewers during prime time, which put it 12th among cable networks. Its viewing was lower than that of TLC, Hallmark, and HGTV.

Last month, preliminary numbers came out, and the final Nielsen Media Research showed that Fox News Channel was still the best.
