When it comes to expressing love, for someone there is no occasion sacred than a wedding celebration.
The coming together of two souls is an remarkable event in ones lifetime inspiring individuals to go above and beyond to make their day truly extraordinary.
While it is assumed that many of you have experienced wedding days we are captivated by the story of one bride who showed a depth of affection for her partner.
Liz Shoesmith and her fiancé Scott live in the town of Caringbah, Australia. They communicate through sign language as Scott is deaf. This unique aspect added some challenges to their wedding day planning.
However they didn’t let these circumstances deter them. The devoted couple meticulously organized every detail to ensure a day for themselves and their loved ones. There was one surprise detail that Liz had carefully prepared for her soon to be spouse.
As the special day unfolded with all its grandeur Liz stood at the aisles entrance, with poise and grace radiating beauty.
Of joining Scott at the sacred altar she paused for a moment. This pause shouldn’t be misunderstood, as a sign of last minute doubts.
In fact it had nothing to do with fear or hesitation. Liz was ready for a captivating performance, like a serenade. The beautiful melody of “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri filled the air creating an atmosphere in the space. Dressed in an ivory gown adorned with silver motifs Liz gracefully embarked on her rehearsed recital.
With every movement Liz conveyed the heartfelt lyrics through the fluid language of sign gestures. This spectacle was not improvised; it was the result of hours of practice.
As for Scott his emotions swelled like a tide. Tears shimmered in his eyes as he witnessed his bride expressing her love through this artistic medium.
In Lizs words shared with Love What Matters she said; “I won’t hide it; I did have some worries before stepping into the ceremony.. From the moment our eyes met my unwavering gaze created a moment, between just us.”Scott showed composure holding back his emotions for a moment before tears streamed down his face while listening to the heartfelt ballad. The video has been watched times. Each viewing still stirs up a wave of emotions.
As Lizs moving performance reached its peak she gracefully joined Scott at the altar in a display of their appreciation for one another. Scotts gesture garnered applause from the loving supporters gathered there.
Although Scott may perceive things differently from others Lizs radiant performance left an impression, on him that he will cherish forever.
