Susan Boyle lost weight by following these three steps:

  1. Remove Sugar
  2. Workout
  3. Take Garcinia Cambogia Supplements

Let’s see how she managed to adapt these seemingly easy steps in her lifestyle to lose weight and change her appearance.

1. Remove Sugar

As soon as Susan Boyle was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, her doctors asked her to eliminate sugar from her diet. When you are diabetic, either your body produces less insulin, or your cells become resistant to it. This causes the sugar in your body to remain unused. This unused sugar gets stored in the body as fat and further deteriorates the body’s metabolism. In an interview with The Mirror, Boyle said, “I need to stop eating sweeties and cakes. It’s the bane of my life.” To remove sugar from her diet, she had to avoid the following foods and drinks.

Sugars To Avoid

  • Sugary beverages like packaged fruit/vegetable juices, milkshakes, energy drinks, and sodas
  • Processed foods
  • Refined or artificial sweeteners
  • Breakfast cereals
  • Cakes, pastries, ice creams, and candies
  • Alcohol
  • Store-bought salad dressings, ketchup, and sauces

Here’s what she was allowed to eat.

Sugars To Eat

  • Fruits And Fruit Juices: They contain natural sugars with dietary fiber, vitamins, and minerals, which are good for your health, digestion, and skin.
  • Veggies: Vegetables have good carbs (carbs are broken down into sugar) that help in better digestion and help flush toxins from your colon.
  • Cane Sugar Or Dark Brown Sugar: Cane sugar and/or dark brown sugar is less processed and healthier than refined sugar and artificial sugar.

Apart from this, she was allowed to consume a good amount of protein and healthy fats found in nuts and seeds to balance her diet. But only cutting off sugar doesn’t work. Here’s the second thing she did to lose the flab.

2. Workout

Exercise is essential for weight loss and good health. Susan Boyle knew that exercising would help her shed the flab quickly, which, in turn, could help fight diabetes and maintain fitness. She started walking 2 miles every day. Walking is a low-impact exercise that is easy on the joints. It can also help reduce blood sugar levels. This lowers the effect of diabetes on the body. Boyle was about 50-years-old at that time, and it was important not to hurt her knees in the process of working out. So, walking was the only way she could start burning the fat.

A study revealed that among adults who tried to lose weight, exercising accounted for 62.9% of reported methods, followed by eating less food at 62.9% and eating more fruits, vegetables, and salads at 50.4%.

3. Take Garcinia Cambogia Supplement

Garcinia cambogia is a tropical, tart fruit that grows in Southeast Asia. The pulp of this fruit is dried and used in foods to add a tangy flavor (much like tamarind). Recently, it has started being used as a weight loss supplement. It works by suppressing your appetite, burning fat by improving your metabolism, and boosting your mood and confidence.

Recently, Boyle was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome that developed due to a lack of oxygen supply to her brain when she was a baby. Due to her condition, she stopped touring in 2015. However, that did not stop her from singing or taking care of her health. You can also start taking care of your health today, and weight loss will happen on its own. Just weed out your bad lifestyle habits, and you will soon start to glow!
